Douglas County Supercross Delivered: Here's What We Saw

Some events remind you why you got into this sport in the first place. The Supercross event at the Douglas County Fairgrounds was one of those days.

The energy hit immediately. Riders had traveled from across the country — and beyond — to line up at the gate. Mexico and the Netherlands both showed up representing, and watching two countries go head-to-head on a Colorado dirt track? That's the kind of racing that doesn't need a broadcaster to make it worth watching. You just feel it.

The age range on the track said everything about the health of this sport. We're talking 7-year-olds throwing it into turns alongside seasoned riders — full send, no hesitation. Racership was built for exactly this: the grassroots pipeline that starts in a family's backyard and scales all the way up.

And speaking of scaling — the pros came out to play. Ronnie Mac stepped into the action, which had the crowd locked in. Unfortunately, a fluke sent him to the hospital, and we're wishing him a solid recovery. That's motorsports. You show up, you throw down, and sometimes the day doesn't end the way anyone planned. Respect for being out there.

Off the track, the fairgrounds had their own energy going. We connected with Tony from Good Times Garage, swung by Rocky Mountain Cycle Plaza, checked out Stocker Brawl, and made a few more stops along the way. The vendor community at these events is always underrated — these are the people keeping grassroots motorsports alive at the local level, and we're glad to know them.

The whole day carried a Southern California vibe — the kind of loose, sun-soaked, family-first energy that makes you forget you're at a competition. Dogs on leashes, kids in moto gear, parents in the pits. That's the culture. That's exactly who Racership is for.
